Improved Symbian and Maemo 6 next year

At the Nokia Capital Markets Day in Helsinki today introduced the Nokia chief Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo of Nokia's plans for the coming year.

- By 2010 we will invest in user experience, and our progress will take Symbian to a new level. Compared to other operating systems are Symbian flexibility and range far and we have taken steps that will lead to lower price levels and higher margins for smartphones in the global market, "Kallasvuo said in a statement.

Nokia does not specify if the changes affect both Symbian 5th Edition, then the version used in phones with touch screens, and 3rd Edition, which is in the somewhat simpler S60 phones.

It can be assumed that there is a touch screen version of the bulk of resources will be given. Another of Nokia's goal in 2010 is to increase the proportion of touch-screen phones in its product portfolio, while we will focus on launching more models with the keyboard and also combining keyboard and touch screen.
