The N900 has got to be one of the best examples of innovation and design by Nokia. Everyone knows and discusses the amazing specs and capabilities of the N900 and Maemo 5. However, I think it is important to take notice of the devices design – not only the physical design but the graphical design as well. The imagery used in the N900 promotion appears to be a highly refined and futuristic variation of the geometric shapes initially introduced with packaging and themes shipped with the Nokia N82 and N95 8GB. Like Apple’s iPhone UI, or the HTC’s Sense UI, I feel that the brilliantly vibrant and calmingly beautiful blue splash wallpaper has become, or will become, iconic within the mobile industry.
